Costume Swap That Makes Halloween Greener And Lots of Cents

This library has annual costume swap that makes lots of sense and cents!
Photo Tampa Times
Palm Harbor library is one of the most creative libraries I have ever seen. Not only do they have a 50's kids diner for teens (over 18 not allowed), where kids can go in to study in diner booths and at counter stools, but they have a children's rooms that is like a playhouse.
This year, for the fourth year in a row, the kids room hosts a dress up corner full of costumes you can try on, buy or swap. Customers Save some cash, save the planet and have a fun day playing dress-up.

This library has annual costume swap that makes lots of sense and cents! The "swap" works two ways: If you bring a cotume you can swap it and if you need a costume you can buy it  for a mere $5. Proceeds are used for children's programs and materials. Costumes will be on display in the Children's Room from Oct. 1-Oct. 31.

A Super Blood Moon To Color The Autumn Sky

It's another phase of the moon again Pals!

This moon will appear 14 times larger.

There is a total eclipse of the moon on the night of September 27-28, 2015. According to Nasa: On the night of Sept. 27 and into the early hours of Sept. 28, the full Moon will glide through the shadow of Earth, turning the Harvest Moon a golden-red color akin to autumn leaves.

The action begins at 9:07 PM Eastern Time on the evening of Sept 27th when the edge of the Moon first enters the amber core of Earth’s shadow.  For the next three hours and 18 minutes, Earth's shadow will move across the lunar disk.

Totality begins at 10:11 PM Eastern Time.  That’s when the Moon is completely enveloped by the shadow of our planet.  Totality lasts for an hour and 12 minutes so there is plenty of time to soak up the suddenly-red moonlight.

What's In A Blue Moon?

Here we go again ... Another moon this month

What's In A Blue Moon?

Blue Moons Are Rare.

Friday July 28 is the last full moon until 2018!

What is a Blue Moon?

There are 2 meanings to a Blue Moon:
  1. The term BLUE MOON has traditionally referred to an 'extra' moon, where a year which normally has 12 moons has 13 instead.
  2. The 'blue moon' reference is also applied to the 2nd moon when two moons occur in one month.

A Colorful Topic:

Songs:
The Blue Moon is a topic for many songs among them  "Blue Moon" by Billie holiday 1945 and "Blue, Blue , Blue, Blue Moon" rerecorded by the Marcells.

Sayings:
"Once in a  Blue Moon" is a saying used to describe a long stretch of time or an event that is rare.

Is the Moon really blue?

There are two definitions of a Blue Moon in astronomy; both are a type of full moon. If the moon actually looks blue, it's caused by a rare type of dust in the atmosphere.
