WW2 Posters Encouraging Scrapping and Conservation
According to the National WW2 Museum, Persuading Americans to support the war effort became a wartime industry, just as important as producing bullets and planes. The U.S. government produced posters, pamphlets, newsreels, radio shows, and movies. Part of that effort was to get citizens to conserve resources and contribute to the shortage of much needed items such as metals.
This effort was not just for the US but countries like the UK as well.
